Messaging Privacy Policy & Terms
Effective January 1, 2026
This Messaging Privacy Policy & Terms ("Messaging Policy") governs text messaging (SMS/MMS) sent or received through the Hosted Voice platform, a service of MORnet Communications, LLC ("Hosted Voice," "we," "us"). It applies to conversational person-to-person (P2P) texting from softphones and desk devices, and to application-to-person (A2P) messaging registered under the 10DLC framework. It supplements our general Privacy Policy.
1. What this service is
Hosted Voice provides business phone service that can send and receive text messages from your business numbers, so your team can text customers directly from their softphones and desk phones. Depending on volume and use, messaging is classified as:
- P2P (person-to-person): conversational, human-initiated texts between a person on your team and another person.
- A2P (application-to-person): messaging that is automated, higher-volume, or sent through software, which under U.S. carrier rules must be registered in the 10DLC framework (a Brand and a Campaign in The Campaign Registry).
2. Consent and your responsibilities as a sender
When you use Hosted Voice to text your own contacts, you (our customer) are the message sender and are responsible for obtaining and honoring consent from the people you message. By using the messaging service you represent and agree that you will:
- Obtain prior express consent from recipients before texting them, consistent with the TCPA, CTIA Messaging Principles, and carrier requirements.
- Only send messages recipients have agreed to receive, and clearly identify your business.
- Honor opt-out requests immediately and not text anyone who has opted out.
- Not send prohibited content (the CTIA "SHAFT" categories — Sex, Hate, Alcohol, Firearms, Tobacco — where restricted, plus illegal, deceptive, or unlawful content).
- Provide accurate information for 10DLC Brand/Campaign registration.
3. Opt-out, help, frequency & rates
- Opt out: recipients can reply
STOPto any message to stop receiving texts;UNSUBSCRIBE,CANCEL,END, andQUITare also honored. A confirmation is sent, after which no further messages are sent unless the recipient opts back in. - Help: recipients can reply
HELPfor assistance and contact information. - Message frequency varies by conversation and program.
- Message and data rates may apply from the recipient's mobile carrier.
- Carrier disclaimer: mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
4. Information we handle
- Phone numbers (sender and recipient) and message content, processed to transmit and deliver messages.
- Delivery metadata — timestamps, delivery/failure status, and message counts — used for delivery, support, billing, and abuse prevention.
- Registration data you provide for 10DLC Brand/Campaign registration, submitted to The Campaign Registry and carriers for approval.
5. How we use and share it
- To deliver your messages, operate and support the service, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with law and carrier rules.
- Shared only with our messaging carriers/aggregators and The Campaign Registry strictly to transmit and register messaging, and with authorities where legally required.
- We do not sell your information, and we do not share mobile opt-in or consent data with third parties for their own marketing.
6. Retention & security
We retain message metadata and registration records as needed to operate the service, support you, meet billing and legal obligations, and demonstrate compliance, then delete or de-identify it. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect messaging data.
7. Your rights
Subject to applicable law (including CCPA and, where applicable, GDPR), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold, and object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, use the contact details below. Opt-out of receiving texts is always available by replying STOP.
8. Opt-in disclosure our customers must use
When you (our customer) collect a phone number and consent to text someone, the point of opt-in — your web form, checkbox, paper form, or keyword — must clearly disclose the program. Carriers reject 10DLC campaigns without this. Use language like:
Keep a record of when and how each recipient consented. Do not buy or share phone lists, and do not text anyone who has not opted in.
